Indianapolis, October 2, 2013 – At the recent GEMMS Annual User Group Conference GEMMS announced the immediate availability of several new low cost GEMMS interface packages. GEMMS, a leader in specialty based EHR, has leveraged its GEMMS LINK technology to interoperability solutions that are low cost and which can be deployed rapidly. “For years our customers have requested that interfaces be easier, quicker and less expensive to deploy”, stated: Dr. Rodger Pinto, CEO of GEMMS. “This has been hard to do given the lack of standards that exist in the industry.” He went on to explain, “but now with the new GEMMS LINK technology we are able to quickly and effectively provide high quality interfaces that can be managed by the users with a minimum of IT experience and allows for quick deployment and lower cost to the customer”.
Single Unidirectional Interfaces
A single unidirectional interface using the GEMMS HL7 specification set cost the customer $1,000 that includes development, installation, setup and training.
A practice can get an inbound HL7 Laboratory interface for $1,000 or any of a number of document, demographic, scheduling interfaces for a $1,000 each. “A few years back it was not unheard of to pay 10 times that amount for an interface” Stated: Brian Bromberek, VP of Marketing Sales at GEMMS.

Hospital Hub Based Interface
Hospital systems that utilize Inpatient systems like EPIC, McKesson, Cerner, etc., typically have several disparate information systems to be linked. The most common interface links often used by hospital include Demographics, laboratory, charges, documents and scheduling or some combination of these. Normally these interfaces require a lot of time and can be a costly endeavor. GEMMS has solved this problem by offering a series of standard interfaces at a cost to the customer for installation, setup and training for $5,000. “A few years back it was not unheard of to pay 5 or 6 times that amount for an interface” Stated: Brian Bromberek, VP of Marketing Sales at GEMMS. However, with GEMMS Link technology it becomes easier to offer cost efficient interfaces. “It’s time for the industry to create low cost solutions that allow for high quality integration” stated: Dr Pinto, CEO of GEMMS. GEMMS is leading the way in that effort.”
